In a massive boost for the Roosters, James Tedesco and Jared Waerea-Hargreaves have escaped bans for their recent on-field indiscretions, much to the relief of fans and teammates alike.

Tedesco was slapped with a $750 fine for a grade 1 dangerous contact charge after he stuck his leg out and tripped Ryan Papenhuyzen during the intense showdown with the Storm.

Papenhuyzen wasted no time in signaling to the referee that Tedesco deserved more than just a slap on the wrist, but luckily for the Roosters, he escaped a more severe punishment.

Meanwhile, Waerea-Hargreaves also managed to avoid suspension after his late hit on Christian Welch resulted in a grade 1 dangerous contact charge.

The fiery forward was handed an $1800 fine, should he choose to take the early guilty plea, but some were calling for him to be sent to the sin bin for his transgression.

After the match, Welch couldn't help but express his frustration with the different treatment meted out to different players, cheekily remarking, "If I'm Mitch Moses then he's gone for 10." It seems that the unwritten rules of the game may sometimes favor certain positions over others, but for now, the Roosters can breathe a sigh of relief as they gear up for their upcoming Anzac Day clash against the Dragons.
