The Sharks have fallen short against the Eels in a thrilling showdown at CommBank Stadium, with the return of star players Mitch Moses and Clint Gutherson proving to be the difference in a 34-22 victory for the blue and gold.
Moses, making his first appearance since Round 3, was instrumental in the Eels' win, showcasing his skill with a pivotal try assist, solid metres gained, and impeccable goal kicking.
Gutherson, on the other hand, was in fine form with an impressive 279-metre run.
The Sharks drew first blood through Sione Katoa after a slick display of teamwork from halves Braydon Trindall and Daniel Atkinson, capitalizing on a fumble by Gutherson near his own goal line.
However, the Eels quickly retaliated, with Will Penisini and Maika Sivo crossing over for tries to give the home side a 10-4 lead.
Sivo scored his second try of the night in the 24th minute, thanks to some creative play from Kelma Tuilagi and Russell, extending the Eels' lead to 16-4.
The Sharks managed to narrow the gap just before halftime, with fullback Will Kennedy and Ronaldo Mulitalo combining for a sensational long-range try, showcasing their raw speed and determination.
Despite a valiant effort from the Sharks, the Eels held on for the win, showcasing their resilience and skill on the field.
It was a hard-fought battle, but ultimately the Eels proved too strong for their opponents on the night.
