South Sydney Rabbitohs star Latrell Mitchell has announced that he is set to make his return this weekend against the Parramatta Eels.
This match presents the 29-year-old centre with a valuable chance to demonstrate his skills for a potential spot on the NSW Blues team, which will be finalized on Monday morning.
Mitchell has been out of action due to a bulging disc issue, resulting in just nine appearances for his team this season.
The NSW team faces a tough challenge as they aim to secure a series win in the decisive match at the iconic Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.
"Yeah it's been good. Been doing a bit of swimming, pilates," Mitchell expressed regarding his fitness during an appearance on Sunday Night with Matty Johns.
"I'll be pushing to play this week. See if Wayne has a position for me."
In light of the NSW Blues' disappointing performance in Game 2 of the series, former NRL player Matty Johns has urged for Mitchell's inclusion in the team, stating it would inject much-needed flair into the line-up.
Johns pointed out that the Blues faltered during crucial moments, advocating for the selection of players whose influence can uplift their teammates.
"Don't pick on form," Johns asserted.
