Luke Metcalf has been awarded the NRL's Player of the Month for May, earning recognition from his peers for his standout performance as the Warriors' halfback.

The award, organized by the Rugby League Players Association, saw Metcalf outperform notable players like Roosters captain James Tedesco and Rabbitohs forward Keaon Koloamatangi.

Metcalf's excellent performance played a significant role in the Warriors' mid-season revival, where the team secured wins against the Cowboys, Dragons, Dolphins, and Rabbitohs.

Notably, although the match against the Rabbitohs took place on June 1, it counted towards the May performance.

The only loss during this period occurred against the Raiders in Canberra.

Throughout May, the 25-year-old showcased impressive statistics: he scored four tries, assisted with three tries, broke the line five times, and made 14 tackle busts.

His match-winning field goal against the Dragons demonstrated his ability to perform under pressure, while his refined kicking game helped the team, forcing three repeat sets and contributing to a total of 51 points scored that month.

Metcalf's exceptional contributions reflect his growing confidence and skill, earning him the respect of both teammates and competitors in the league.
