Halfback Luke Metcalf has signed a two-year contract extension, securing his future with the NZ Warriors until the conclusion of the 2028 NRL season, according to warriors.kiwi.
Set to be off contract after the 2026 season, the 26-year-old was likely to become one of the most desirable players in the league. However, he has chosen to recommit to the Warriors before entering free agency on November 1.
Metcalf, originally from Coffs Harbour, showcased exceptional performance during the first half of the 2025 season. His remarkable displays propelled him to the lead of the Dally M Medal race with 31 points while voting was conducted in secrecy.
Unfortunately, his season came to a halt due to an ACL knee injury sustained in a round 17 defeat against Brisbane. Despite missing the final nine regular season matches, he still managed to finish in eighth place with a total of 41 points.
