In the 28th minute, the Roosters finally found their rhythm and hit back with a try of their own through Angus Crichton, narrowing the gap to 6-4.

However, Melbourne responded swiftly, with Ryan Papenhuyzen showcasing his blistering speed to score a scintillating solo try just minutes later.

As the game intensified, both teams exchanged blows and it was the Roosters who struck next, capitalizing on a Storm error to score a try through Joseph Manu.

With the successful conversion, the Roosters took the lead for the first time in the match, 10-8.

With tensions rising and time running out, the Storm fought back valiantly.

In the 70th minute, Felise Kaufusi crashed over the line, giving Melbourne a 12-10 advantage.

However, the Roosters weren't ready to concede defeat and responded with a penalty goal, leveling the scores at 12-12.

As the clock ticked towards full-time, it seemed as though the game would head into extra time.

But in a stunning turn of events, Cameron Munster's perfectly placed kick found the hands of Will Warbrick, who soared through the air to score the match-winning try in the 79th minute.

The victory secured Melbourne's place in the preliminary final, where they will face the Panthers in a highly anticipated rematch of the 2020 grand final.

With their dreams of a premiership still alive, the Storm will undoubtedly draw strength from this thrilling last-minute triumph over the gallant Roosters.
