In a whirlwind of games, the Melbourne Storm feeder teams had a mixed bag of results in the HostPlus Cup and NSW Knock On Effect Cup over the weekend.

The Tigers, hungry for redemption after a tough loss last week, clawed their way to a hard-fought 24-12 victory over the Mackay Cutters in Round 8.

It was a display of determination and skill as the Tigers showed they are not to be counted out in the 2024 season.

Led by Storm Academy product Coby Williamson, who covered an impressive 159m, the Tigers had a strong showing with Kane Bradley and Tristan Powell also putting up solid numbers with 119m and 138m respectively.

It was a real team effort that delivered the goods for the Tigers.

Over in the NSW Knock On Effect Cup, the Bears battled it out against the Sydney Roosters to a thrilling 10-10 draw at North Sydney Oval.

Dean Ieremia continued to showcase his talent, adding another try to his tally for a total of seven this season.

It was a nail-biting match that had fans on the edge of their seats.

With the Bears looking like they would secure a 10-8 victory, a last-minute penalty goal from the Roosters saw the points shared between the two teams.

It was a tense finish that demonstrated the resilience and skill of both sides.

Overall, it was a weekend of ups and downs for the Melbourne Storm feeder teams, but they showed they have the strength and determination to compete at the highest level.

The future looks bright for these promising young players as they continue to develop their talents in the world of Rugby League.
