The Melbourne Storm have strongly denied reports that they are considering offers for Ryan Papenhuyzen, amid speculation about the injured star's future.
Papenhuyzen recently suffered another long-term injury, breaking his ankle in just his third game back from a shattered knee cap.
The rumors linking him with a rival NRL club come as Storm young gun Sualauvi Faalogo is set for a significant contract upgrade after impressing for Samoa in the Pacific Championship Test series.
Storm officials have already begun working on doubling Faalogo's pay for the 2024 season.
However, the club has made it clear that they have no intention of letting Papenhuyzen leave.
In a statement, they said, "At no stage has any Storm official made contact with another club directly or via a third party regarding an early release of Ryan from his contract." They also emphasized Papenhuyzen's importance to the team, stating that he is loved by his teammates, coaches, staff, and fans.
The club is eagerly awaiting his return to training in December.
