Steve McNamara, the longest-serving coach in Super League history and former England coach, has officially stepped down from his role with the Catalans Dragons, effective immediately.
Reports from zerotackle.com indicate that his departure follows potential links to the Leeds Rhinos, who may soon have a coaching vacancy due to Brad Arthur's impending exit at the end of the year.
McNamara served the Dragons for nearly a decade, having joined the club in 2017.
During his tenure, he achieved significant success, leading the team to their first two major trophies: the Challenge Cup Final in 2018 and the League Leaders' Shield in 2021.
Additionally, he guided Catalans to two Super League grand finals, where they faced defeat at Old Trafford in both 2021 and 2023.
Despite these accomplishments, the club's recent performances have not met expectations, leading to McNamara's decision to resign.
