McInnes Exit: Cam McInnes Open to NRL Move

Sharks forward Cam McInnes has signalled he may move on as he nears the final year of his deal with the Shire club.

The club's off-season decision to extend Jesse Colquhoun through to 2030 has altered the squad landscape and contributed to McInnes assessing his future.

Rumours have linked the Perth Bears to the hard-working forward, but there has been no official offer reported.

McInnes accepts that his spot could be uncertain and is prepared to examine opportunities elsewhere to continue his NRL career.

He has emphasised that geography would not rule him out, as his priority is staying on the field.

"I would love to stay at the Sharks, but we'll see. I'm aware of the situation. They have a lot of guys off-contract," McInnes told Fox Sports.

"I just want to play footy, so that's anywhere. Doesn't matter where it is, I'll play anywhere, so just see what happens there.

"I'm just trying to get back on the field, but it's a bit of a unique situation for me.

"I've never gone into a season not knowing what I was doing the next season, but plenty of guys have to do that every year, so I've been really lucky.

The coming months should clarify whether McInnes remains in Cronulla or finds a fresh start elsewhere for 2026.
