McGuire's exit: Will the Robins find a new nest?

Danny McGuire: Hull KR assistant head coach leaves Super League club

LeagueNews.co | Robbie Hamilton

Hull KR assistant head coach Danny McGuire, known as one of Super League's greatest players, has departed the Robins at the end of their 2023 season.

McGuire, who previously played for Hull KR before transitioning into coaching, had been part of the team's coaching staff.

He joined as an assistant to Tony Smith in 2021 and continued in that role under Willie Peters.

Together, they successfully guided Rovers to the Challenge Cup final and the play-offs.

Peters expressed his gratitude to McGuire for his contributions to the club.

The decision for McGuire to leave was made as part of a plan to rejuvenate the first team's coaching structure, allowing Peters to assemble his own coaching team.
