May to Miss Pacific Championships Due to Injury

Wests Tigers centre Taylan May is likely to miss the upcoming Pacific Championships, representing Samoa, before the tournament has even commenced.

The 24-year-old was anticipated to be a key player for the Samoan team this year. However, it has come to light that an unfortunate offseason injury will prevent him from playing rugby league in 2025.

As reported by the Daily Telegraph, May has sustained a torn quad, though the injury did not occur during a training session.

Instead, the incident happened while he was playing with his children at home.

He has made the decision not to travel to New Zealand with the Samoan team, choosing to focus on his recovery as he aims for his first preseason with the Tigers.

His rehabilitation is projected to take about six weeks, allowing him to seamlessly join the Tigers' early training sessions ahead of the 2026 season.
