"Rugby League star Terrell May has hit back at claims of being a bad influence, calling it the 'stupidest stuff' in a recent interview.
The burly prop was unexpectedly released by the Sydney Roosters at the end of the 2024 season, only to be snapped up by the Wests Tigers on a three-year contract quicker than a winger scoring a try.
Despite being a standout player for the Roosters in their successful 2024 season, where they made it to the preliminary final before falling to the Melbourne Storm, May found himself on the outer at Bondi.
In a twist of fate, he landed at the Tigers, ready to bring his hard-hitting tackles and powerful runs to his new team.
Reflecting on his sudden departure from the Roosters, May admitted that he was initially speechless, much like a coach watching a last-minute try.
However, he soon realized that new opportunities were on the horizon, especially with the news of experienced halfback Ben Hunt hitting the market after leaving the St George Illawarra Dragons.
"When Coach Trent Robinson gave me the news, I was left dumbfounded.
I almost thought it was a prank call," May shared with The Sydney Morning Herald.
"But he explained that the Roosters were heading in a different direction, and the rest is history."
Now, May is focused on making the most of his fresh start with the Tigers, ready to charge onto the field and prove his worth with every tackle and run.
With a point to prove and a new team to call home, May is set to show the Rugby League world that he's a force to be reckoned with, ready to tackle any challenges that come his way like a seasoned veteran of the game."
