The
Maxigesic Recovery Report: Seven backs down
In a blow to the NZ Warriors, Adam Pompey and Taine Tuaupiki have been sidelined, adding to the long list of injured players in their backline.
Pompey, nursing a knee injury, is set to miss action until the business end of the season, while Tuaupiki is on the sidelines due to NRL concussion protocols after a knock to the head in the clash against the Raiders.
He's expected to bounce back for round 22.
Joining them on the injury list are fullback Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad (calf), halfback Shaun Johnson (struggling with chronic Achilles tendinopathy), winger Marcelo Montoya (nursing a groin issue), Rocco Berry (shoulder), and Luke Metcalf (leg).
Nicoll-Klokstad is eyeing a return for round 22, with Montoya and Metcalf likely to feature in round 23.
The forward pack has taken a hit as well, with Tohu Harris out for the remainder of the season following wrist surgery.
On a brighter note, utility player Paul Roache (recovering from an ankle injury) is poised to make his comeback with the New South Wales Cup side this Friday night, providing a glimmer of hope for the Warriors' depleted backline.
