Wests Tigers head coach Benji Marshall criticized NRL referee Gerard Sutton and bunker official Ashley Klein over two pivotal sin bins during his team's narrow comeback against the North Queensland Cowboys.
According to reports from zerotackle.com, the Tigers trailed 32-6 with just over 20 minutes remaining but managed to score three tries in a rapid five-minute span, and added another just five minutes before fulltime, ultimately losing by four points.
The match was laden with controversy, particularly surrounding a dubious try awarded to Jeremiah Nanai, along with sin bins issued to Tigers captain Jarome Luai and center Adam Doueihi in the first half.
Luai's sin bin was attributed to several consecutive infringements on the team's own goal line, while Doueihi was penalized for a professional foul after being ruled to have interfered with John Bateman during a kick chase.
Marshall described the sin bins as "pretty harsh" but acknowledged his team's commendable effort to rally back into the game.
