In a recent YouTube video, one man shared his unfiltered thoughts as the club aims for finals in the upcoming 2026 season.
Benji Marshall, determined to shift the narrative away from the club's usual controversies, seeks to foster a positive culture among his players.
He emphasizes the importance of their commitment to wearing the Tigers logo and how they can contribute daily to the club's pursuit of success.
"Welcome back, 2026 Wests Tigers. You should be excited. I've noticed a lot of nerves in the room," Marshall kicked off the video, which was published on Monday evening.
Looking back at his own experiences, he candidly stated, "I remember my first pre-season, it's pretty stressful but even though it's going to be hard who gives a f***."
His message was clear: those who cannot uphold the club's standards may not have a place in the team.
"Let's just embrace it, be positive about it, upbeat because for some of you on train-and-trial (contracts), it is an opportunity that you might not get longer than six weeks, so you've got to make the most of it.
"The other thing I've learned about pre-season is that you'll never get this time back and if you have a great pre-season it sets you up for a good season."
This season also introduces a six-man bench, allowing 19 players to be named for each match, which will bring additional challenges and impactful contests within the team.
