The Maroons have appointed Cameron Munster as the new captain of Queensland, replacing Daly Cherry-Evans ahead of the crucial second State of Origin clash in Perth.
This decision follows the Maroons' loss to NSW at Suncorp Stadium, which led to Cherry-Evans being removed as both halfback and captain.
At 30 years old, Munster, previously known for his wild antics, has emerged as a key figure for the team.
Coach Billy Slater chose him over his Melbourne Storm teammate and current captain Harry Grant, as well as Gold Coast Titans skipper Tino Fa'asuamaleaui.
This match in Perth will mark Munster's 20th appearance in State of Origin competition.
He is also a past recipient of the Wally Lewis medal, awarded to the player of the series in 2020.
Additionally, Slater confirmed that Kurt Mann from the Canterbury Bulldogs will make his debut for Queensland as part of a revamped lineup.
The Maroons must secure a win against the Blues in this match to push for a decisive game three, avoiding the loss of a second consecutive series.
