After a tough night down in Melbourne, the Maroons were in need of some good news and they received it with an important injury update.
Queensland coach Billy Slater can breathe a sigh of relief as young gun Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow has been given the all clear from a potentially serious shoulder injury.
Tabuai-Fidow had to leave the field in the first half of the match against NSW on Wednesday due to his shoulder issue.
However, he showed true grit and determination by returning in the second half to score a try, earning praise from Slater for his bravery.
It was believed that he may have suffered an AC joint injury, but scans showed that it was just a minor setback.
The speedy winger will sit out of the Dolphins' game against the Dragons this weekend to ensure he is fully fit for the State of Origin decider at Suncorp Stadium on July 17.
Despite the setback, the Dolphins' head of performance, Jeremy Hickmans, has reassured fans that Tabuai-Fidow will be ready to take the field for the Maroons in just over two weeks.
"If it wasn't for the bye next week, he would be good to go for the Dolphins," said Hickmans.
With the Origin series on the line, Queensland will be hoping that Tabuai-Fidow can bring his speed and agility to the table to help secure a victory over their rivals from down south.
