Mark Nawaqanitawase has shared his journey of being destined to play for the Sydney Roosters, tracing it back to his time training with Daniel Tupou in the club's U17s development squad.

After representing Australia in rugby sevens at the Paris Olympics, Nawaqanitawase joined the Roosters. He initially played league for Concord-Burwood Wolves and Leichhardt Wanderers before transitioning to rugby during high school.

His ties to the Roosters are further strengthened through childhood friends Chris and Matt Georges. Their father, John Georges, who plays a significant role in the Lebanon Cedars, believed in Nawaqanitawase's potential as an NRL star. In 2016, he facilitated Nawaqanitawase's entry into a Roosters development squad, where he trained alongside Tupou and other first-grade team members.
