Fijian Bati coach Wise Kativerata believes that Mark Nawaqanitawase's quick success in transitioning to rugby league is opening doors for the next generation of Fijian players to shine in the NRL.
Despite not participating in Fiji's Pacific Championships, Nawaqanitawase has gained a strong following in Fiji and is seen as an inspiration to many.
Kativerata, who also coaches the national team, is hopeful that Nawaqanitawase will visit Fiji during a break from his Roosters commitments to motivate young players.
He is confident that Nawaqanitawase's success will encourage more Fijians to pursue rugby league careers in Australia.
Nawaqanitawase himself is determined to represent Fiji in the future, despite a busy schedule that included playing for the Waratahs, participating in the Olympics, and switching to rugby league midway through the year.
