Carter Mareko, recently named the Player of the Tournament for the 2025 Harold Matthews Cup, is looking to maintain his exceptional form as he prepares to play in the SG Ball Cup next season.
Recognized as a prime rugby league prospect under 17, Mareko has had an impressive last six months with the Central Coast Roosters and Central Coast Sports College.
He is currently gearing up for the U18s ASSRL National Championships and the finals of the 2025 Peter Mullhond Cup.
In the Harold Matthews Cup, Mareko led the Roosters deep into the playoffs, falling just short of the Grand Final.
His standout performance earned him unanimous recognition as Player of the Tournament, attributed to his "attacking intelligence, quick footwork, elite speed, and ability to find gaps in the opposition's defensive line." Mareko aspires to join the ranks of successful Central Coast Roosters who have made it to the NRL and shared his ambitions in an interview with Zero Tackle, expressing pride in donning the esteemed Roosters jersey.
