Joey Manu's recent appearance at a Roosters home game against Canberra has ignited speculation among fans regarding his potential return to the team.

The two-time NRL premiership winner was spotted at Allianz Stadium, signing autographs and taking photos with fans prior to the Roosters' close 24-26 loss to the Raiders.

Many supporters interpreted his presence as a hopeful sign that Manu might reconsider his commitment to play rugby in France and return to the Roosters this season.

However, those hopes appear unwarranted, as reports indicate that Manu was invited back to the club to utilize its training and gym facilities in preparation for his upcoming rugby stint.

Manu left the Roosters at the end of last season to play for the Japanese team Toyota Verblitz and is set to join French club Racing 92 in July ahead of France's domestic rugby season, which launches in August.

Earlier in the year, there were claims that Manu might have reconsidered his decision and was exploring the possibility of returning to the NRL for personal reasons.

However, Roosters coach Trent Robinson has been clear about the situation.

In April, he stated, "I had no idea about it at all, so that's the first thing," clarifying that he received no indications from Manu about a potential return to the NRL.

Despite the buzz surrounding Manu's visit, it seems that the Roosters' hopes of bringing him back this season will remain unfulfilled.
