Sydney Roosters head coach Trent Robinson has hinted at the possibility of Joseph Manu returning for a short-term deal at the club after 2027.
The Chiefs recently announced Manu's signing for their first season in 2028, which means he'll return to league following his time in rugby union.
Currently in France, Manu's contract is set to expire in mid-2027, leaving him without a team for the latter half of 2028.
This opens up the possibility of him joining an NRL club for a brief stint leading to the finals, with the Roosters frequently suggested as a familiar destination for the star.
When asked on Friday, Robinson suggested it could happen.
"Well, I know he is going to PNG. Who knows. Who knows," Robinson stated.
"It has been great for Joey. He has got some adventure going to Japan and France and now Papua New Guinea.
"He deserves everything he gets, Joey. He is one of the favourites; he will always be a Roosters, but his adventure has taken him elsewhere.
"He is always welcome through these doors, that's for sure."
