Joseph Manu, a former star of the Sydney Roosters, has officially signed with French rugby club Racing 92 until 2027, disappointing NRL fans who hoped for his return to the league.

Although there were long-standing rumors about his potential move to Racing 92, many were optimistic that his exit from Japanese rugby could lead him back to the NRL.

Racing 92 has bolstered its squad with several new recruits, and Head Coach Patrice Collazo expressed his satisfaction with these signings, stating, "We have chosen to build a dense squad, with players driven by an impeccable mentality and a great ability to serve the team." Despite his commitment to Racing 92, Manu will become a free agent once his contract expires at the end of the 2026 season, leaving a glimmer of hope for his eventual return to the NRL, where he has previously won multiple premierships and excelled on significant platforms.
