'Always be a Rooster': Joseph Manu confirms Japanese rugby move at the end of the year

In what promises to be a seismic shift in the landscape of the NRL, Joseph Manu has made the bold decision to leave the Roosters and take his talents overseas.

The Roosters will now need to fill the void left by the departure of their star centre, who will be joining Japanese rugby club Toyota Verblitz.

Known for his blistering speed and deft footwork, Manu has been a cornerstone of the Roosters lineup, helping them claim two premierships during his tenure.

With a twinkle in his eye and a steely determination in his heart, Manu has expressed his eagerness to test himself in a new arena.

The Golden Boot winner recently showcased his versatility by stepping into the fullback role in the absence of skipper James Tedesco, a move that had fans and pundits alike buzzing with excitement.

While Manu's departure will undoubtedly leave a void in the Roosters lineup, there is a glimmer of hope that he may one day return to the NRL.

In the meantime, the Roosters will need to regroup and search for new recruits to fill the shoes of Manu and fellow rising star Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii, who is also set to make the jump to rugby in the near future.

Reflecting on his time with the Roosters, Manu expressed his gratitude for the opportunities he has been given and the unwavering support of the fans.

As he prepares to embark on this new chapter in his career, one thing is certain - Joseph Manu will always be a Rooster at heart.
