Manly's Lodge may soar to rival's nest

As the season winds down, Manly Sea Eagles' powerhouse Matthew Lodge is in talks with a potential move to a rival club.

Lodge, who recently made his comeback from a bicep injury, is currently without a contract for next season.

Despite the Sea Eagles' desire to keep him on board, rumors are swirling that Lodge may be lured away to the Newcastle Knights.

Lodge, who battled back from a ruptured ACL earlier this season, rose through the ranks after starting on a modest train-and-trial contract with the Sea Eagles.

While he has shown promise on the field, the Knights are looking to bolster their squad under the guidance of new recruitment guru Peter O'Sullivan.

With players like Daniel Saifiti, Jayden Brailey, and Jack Hetherington already given the green light to seek new opportunities, Lodge may find himself drawn to the Knights' revamped lineup.

It remains to be seen if Lodge will stay loyal to the Sea Eagles or opt for a fresh start with the Knights.

Let the game of contract negotiations begin!
