The Sea Eagles put up a valiant effort in their quest to make the Harvey Norman NSW Women's finals series in their inaugural season, but unfortunately, their journey has come to an end.

In a hard-fought battle against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs at Accor Stadium, the Sea Eagles fell short with a 22-14 loss in round 10.

Despite the loss, the Sea Eagles displayed true grit and determination on the field, leaving it all out there in a must-win match.

However, they now find themselves five points behind the Bulldogs as they head into the final round next week.

The game at Homebush saw the Sea Eagles playing on the wide, open spaces of the iconic Olympics venue for the first time, a stark contrast to the rugged grounds they have faced throughout the season.

After initially trailing 4-0, the Sea Eagles fought back to take a 6-4 lead with a brilliant try from Chelsea Smyth, who received a superb cut-out pass from Teagan Long before crossing over next to the posts.

Shortly after, Shontelle Stowers extended the lead to 10-4 with a try out wide off a well-executed pass from Tayla Montgomery.

Despite their best efforts, the Sea Eagles couldn't hold on, but their fighting spirit and determination did not go unnoticed.
