The Manly Sea Eagles are making a significant move by bridging the gap between the NRL and AFL, as they prepare to enhance their coaching staff for 2026.
As reported by Wide World of Sports, the Sea Eagles are bringing in former AFL coach Aaron Greaves to take on the role of Head of Coaching and Leadership.
Greaves, who has notable experience with Carlton and Port Adelaide and a playing background at Geelong, is expected to assist in refining the Sea Eagles' kicking and catching strategies to give the team an advantage in aerial plays.
Recognizing the effectiveness of high balls in recent NRL seasons, Manly aims to leverage AFL expertise to enhance their precision in kicking and improve their performance in aerial contests.
His expertise in skill development and leadership will play a key role in this initiative.
Greaves is anticipated to collaborate closely with new Sea Eagles halfback Jamal Fogarty and winger Jason Saab, creating a specialized unit focused on executing and retrieving high balls.
"We think he could be great for us," a Sea Eagles source told Wide World of Sports.
