Manly Forward Waddell May Sit Out Rest Season

NRL Judiciary Report: Manly forward facing stint on sidelines as three charged

In some crappy news for the Sea Eagles, it looks like Corey Waddell might be taking an unscheduled break from the field after copping a Grade 2 Careless High Tackle charge for his hit on Solomon Alaimalo during their clash with the Tigers.

If he pleads guilty, he'll be cooling his heels for two weeks, but if he decides to fight it and comes up short, he could be out for three games, potentially missing the start of the finals if Manly holds onto their spot in the top eight.

But Waddell wasn't the only one feeling the heat.

Haumole Olakau'atu also got a tap on the shoulder with a Grade 1 Careless High Tackle charge, and since it's his third strike, he's looking at a $3000 fine or a two-game suspension if he doesn't take the early guilty plea.

And not to be left out, Taniela Paseka also found himself in hot water with a Grade 1 Careless High Tackle charge.

However, thanks to his clean record, he'll only have to cough up $1000 if he owns up to it.

But if he decides to go to the judiciary and ends up on the losing end, that fine jumps up to $1500.

It's a tough break for the Sea Eagles as they gear up for the business end of the season, but as they say in Rugby League, it's all part of the game.

Hoping these boys can bounce back stronger and smarter after this setback.
