Anthony Seibold, the coach of the Manly Sea Eagles, has indicated that two promising young talents are "a chance" to debut in the NRL first grade within the next two weeks, as the 2025 season draws to a close.
As the team prepares for their match against The Dolphins this Saturday, Seibold highlighted that young halfback Joey Walsh and emerging front-rower Simione Laiafi are potential candidates for a call-up.
Walsh, seen as the future replacement for Daly Cherry-Evans in the No. 7 jersey, could make his debut against either the St George Illawarra Dragons or the New Zealand Warriors as the season wraps up.
Laiafi, who has been performing well in the lower divisions, is also on the brink of being selected.
Despite a disappointing season where the Sea Eagles are likely to miss the NRL Finals, fans may have the chance to witness some of the club's future talents in the upcoming fortnight.
"We were going to play him [Joey Walsh] last week," coach Anthony Seibold mentioned.
"Pretty much Jake Simpkin turned up from the hospital just an hour before the game. Joey was going to come off the bench."
