Ezra Mam's return to the NRL will have to wait a little longer after the league decided that he cannot shave off any games from his nine-match suspension by playing in the All-Stars game.
This ruling effectively pushes Mam's ban to ten games, keeping him off the field until at least Round 10 of the 2025 season.
This decision was reported by zerotackle.com and confirmed by The Courier-Mail.
This decision differs from previous cases involving Latrell Mitchell and Josh Addo-Carr, who were both able to use the All Stars game to reduce their suspensions.
Mitchell successfully applied to have his one-game ban shortened, allowing him to take the field in South Sydney's season opener.
Similarly, Addo-Carr's four-game suspension for a positive cocaine test was cut short after counting the All Stars game towards his ban.
In the game of Rugby League, rules and decisions can often be tough calls, but Mam will have to bide his time and wait for his chance to make a comeback on the field.
