Maguire's Halfback Decision Before Prelim Final

LeagueNews.co | Jason Patrick

The Brisbane Broncos currently stand out as the best team in the NRL, continuing to excel in the absence of their halfback and captain, Adam Reynolds.

Reynolds, who has been recovering from a hamstring injury for six weeks, has had Ben Hunt take over the halfback position during his recovery.

During Reynolds' absence, Hunt has successfully guided the team to five consecutive victories, raising speculation about whether the Broncos are performing better with Hunt in the halfback role.

Despite growing calls from fans and analysts for Reynolds to be benched or even permanently replaced when he returns, head coach Michael Maguire holds a different perspective.

"Adam is the captain," Maguire told the Daily Telegraph.

"At this time of year, experience is so important."

Reynolds' wealth of experience, particularly in finals, is something Maguire highly values as the Broncos aim for their second Grand Final appearance in three years.
