Michael Maguire is tired of being asked about potentially coaching the Broncos in 2027, while captain Pat Carrigan admitted the team has let him down during a poor title defense.
This season, the reigning champions have only secured seven victories, with the 46-20 defeat against the Storm on Thursday marking their ninth consecutive home loss.
During the press conference following the match, Maguire was asked if he is the right person to guide the team moving forward.
His response was immediate and indicated his frustration with the ongoing speculation regarding his position at Red Hill.
"You ask me this every day," Maguire retorted.
The Broncos coach then shifted focus to his disappointing team, who failed to build on their recent victory over Canberra in front of departing teammates like Adam Reynolds.
"I know what this team's capable of when they stick to it like we did last week. We just shot ourselves in the foot at times throughout that game and put pressure on ourselves. And if you do that at this level, whoever you play, it's always going to be hard," Maguire stated.
"We need to be smarter and better at times within games. We put ourselves in a position to actually go for it."
