In a bold move that's sending shockwaves through the Brisbane Broncos camp, coach Michael Maguire has made the tough call to remove Allan Langer from his on-field training duties.
However, Maguire is adamant that the Broncos will find a new spot for the rugby league legend within the organization.
Langer, a beloved figure in Broncos history and a key player in multiple premiership wins alongside his former teammate Kevin Walters, was reportedly blindsided and upset by Walters' dismissal.
Hailed as the greatest Bronco of all time by founding coach Wayne Bennett, Langer has been a mainstay at Red Hill for over two decades, taking on various roles within the club.
The respect for Langer is so immense that Broncos captain Adam Reynolds cited him as a major factor in his decision to join the team.
Despite not continuing in his coaching position for the upcoming season, Maguire is committed to working with 'Alfie' to find him a new role at the club.
"Alf will always have a place in the Broncos family," Maguire told The Courier Mail.
"I haven't had the chance to sit down with him face to face yet, but I know he's a fantastic individual.
I look forward to finding a way for Alf to contribute to the team moving forward."
With Langer's future at the Broncos uncertain, the rugby league community eagerly awaits to see where this legendary figure will land next within the organization.
