Brisbane Broncos coach Michael Maguire has confirmed that Kotoni Staggs will not be returning from his hip injury to play against the North Queensland Cowboys this weekend.
Staggs had suffered the injury late in the pre-season and has been sidelined since the start of the season.
Initially expected to make a comeback somewhere between Round 4 and Round 6, there was speculation when he was included in the extended squad for the upcoming game.
However, Maguire made it clear that Staggs still needs more time to recover.
Despite being part of the final 19-man squad for the game at Suncorp Stadium, Maguire stated, "Kotoni won't play but he will be in the 19."
