The Western Suburbs Magpies fell short in a gritty battle against the North Sydney Bears in Round 8 of the NSW Cup at Campbelltown Sports Stadium.
The Magpies put up a strong fight, with middle forwards Reuben Porters and Justin Matamua crossing the try line in the first half.
Solomona Faataape added another try in the second half, bringing the Magpies within reach of the Bears with a score of 18-16.
However, the Bears dug deep and managed to secure two late tries to seal the win.
Despite the loss, the Magpies showed great resilience and determination throughout the game, demonstrating the true spirit of Rugby League.
