In Round 16 of the NSW Cup, the Western Suburbs Magpies suffered a 38-18 loss to the Dragons.
The Dragons quickly dominated the game, with early tries from Sione Finau, Tyrell Sloan, and Nathan Lawson establishing a 16-0 lead.
Cody Ramsey facilitated Sloan's second try with a stunning flick pass, further extending the margin.
The Magpies finally got on the scoreboard when Tristan Hope took advantage of a lapse in the Dragons' defense, tapping and running from 5 metres out to score a try.
The Magpies showed resilience early in the second half as Izaac Tu'itupou scored in the corner, allowing Kurt Falls to convert and narrow the gap to 20-12.
Hope then assisted Tony Sukkar to score, bringing the Magpies within two points as the match progressed.
Despite the Magpies' attempt to come back, the Dragons maintained their lead and closed out the match with additional scoring.
