In Round 10 of the NSW Cup, the Wests Magpies faced a tough defeat against the Panthers, losing 40-16.
The match began with Jesse McLean scoring for the Magpies, but the Panthers quickly took control with tries from former Magpie Daine Laurie and Harrison Hassett.
The Magpies managed to score first in the second half, with Krystian Mapapalangi crossing the line thanks to a well-placed cutout pass from Kurt Falls.
However, the Panthers responded effectively, with Trent Toelau and Casey McLean scoring to extend their lead to 30-6.
Mapapalangi shone for Wests again in the 63rd minute, demonstrating his skill by chipping the ball over the top and kicking it forward to secure his third try in three matches.
Shortly afterward, Noah Johannssen added another for the Magpies, scoring off a pass from Tristan Hope, narrowing the gap to 14 points, but it wasn't enough to change the outcome of the match.
Overall, the Panthers showcased their strength, while the Magpies fought hard but could not close the deficit.
