Tarsha Gale presents the trophy named in her honour to Steelers captain Maddi Weatherall in 2019

Dragons coach Jamie Soward has expressed his confidence in Maddison Weatherall's potential to become the top prop in the NRLW.

The 21-year-old player recently disclosed how she and her partner, Max Feagai, have successfully managed their parental responsibilities while also participating in training and matches.

Soward's prediction comes on the heels of Weatherall's impressive performance in only her second game back after a three-year hiatus from the NRLW.

During St George Illawarra's victory over Parramatta at WIN Stadium last Saturday, Weatherall, who began the game as a substitute, took it upon herself to target Kennedy Cherrington, a formidable Jillaroos enforcer.

Her bone-crushing tackle resulted in a turnover, and her powerful run subsequently set up Teagan Berry's first try.

Weatherall has already competed in an NRLW grand final, having made her debut in 2019.

That same season, she led the Steelers to victory in the Tarsha Gale Cup grand final and guided the NSW U18s to triumph in the State of Origin.

However, her career took a backseat for three years after participating in only one NRLW match in 2020.

This hiatus was due to the postponement of the 2021 competition to 2022 and her subsequent pregnancy with daughter Lariah.
