The Melbourne Storm are currently sitting comfortably at the top of the ladder, but their spine is about to get even more formidable with Cameron Munster set to start against the Dragons on Saturday night.

It's been a long road back for Munster since suffering a serious adductor tear, but after a flawless week of training, he's ready to unleash his freakish talents once again on the rugby league field.

Since Munster's injury in round 12, the Storm has been on an impressive winning streak, thanks in large part to standout performances from halfback Jahrome Hughes.

However, the return of Munster will only bolster their already strong lineup, with the likes of Grant Anderson and Tyran Wishart stepping up in his absence.

Assistant coach Ryan Hinchcliffe expressed confidence in Munster's readiness to start, highlighting the importance of having key players back in the lineup.

With Munster back in the mix, the Storm are looking to up the ante as they gear up for the approaching finals series.

"It's really a luxury to have Cameron back starting.

He's had a full week of training and I expect him to go out and play at his best for us," Hinchcliffe stated.

"Having that continuity in your key positions is crucial in rugby league, and we're excited to see what the freakish Munster can bring to the table against the Dragons."
