Lomax Settlement Ends Eels Legal Drama

‘We just found out’: Eels coach reacts to big Lomax call... and confirms interest in Origin star

Eels coach Jason Ryles expressed a degree of sympathy for the departing winger Zac Lomax following the conclusion of the club's legal matters concerning him on Tuesday.

Lomax reached an agreement with Parramatta that prevents him from returning to the NRL until he receives the club's approval before the 2028 season. This development comes after he attracted interest from the Storm, particularly after a potential transfer to R360 did not materialize.

This settlement places Lomax in a state of contract uncertainty, but the Eels have made it clear they are prepared to collaborate with him and his representative to secure a new club for the 26-year-old, as long as they receive appropriate compensation.

After the court proceedings concluded, Ryles spoke with the media and expressed satisfaction that both sides could "move on."

"We were on the field so we've just got off and just found out. It's good that there's a resolution and we can all move on now," Ryles mentioned.
