Zac Lomax has been released from the last three years of his NRL contract with Parramatta, fueling rumors that the representative winger may switch to the new competition, R360.

On Sunday, the club announced that Lomax would be leaving "to pursue opportunities outside the NRL."

The Eels granted Lomax's release with the stipulation that he would not join a rival NRL club without their consent.

His departure follows that of Melbourne's star fullback Ryan Papenhuyzen, who has also been rumored to be considering a move to the upcoming breakaway competition slated to begin late next year.

Lomax has previously played 114 games for the Dragons before signing with the Eels for the 2025 season. During his tenure at Parramatta, he appeared in 19 games, scoring nine tries, while the team finished 11th.

The six-time New South Wales representative's future in rugby league remains uncertain due to the possibility of a transition to R360.

ARLC chair Peter V'landys has issued a warning, stating that any player who joins R360 could face a 10-year suspension from the NRL or any ARLC-sanctioned event.

Furthermore, most major rugby nations, including Australia, are prepared to prevent players from participating in Test matches if they enter into contracts with R360.
