Trent Loiero has been named to start for the Maroons in Game Two of the State of Origin series, following his debut performance.

Despite being only one game into his State of Origin career, he has earned the trust of coach Billy Slater.

In the opening match, Loiero came off the bench, playing 36 minutes and recording two tackle breaks alongside 62 run metres.

While he performed solidly, he, like the rest of the Queensland squad, aimed for a more significant impact.

Slater acknowledged Loiero's contributions during his time on the field, stating that he had "earned a recall" for the upcoming game against the Blues.
