Levi Sisters Eye NRLW Transition

The NRLW is set to receive a significant boost with the potential transfer of the highly regarded Levi sisters, Maddison and Teagan, who are reportedly making a historic move from rugby sevens to the NRLW for the 2026 season.

As detailed by The Daily Telegraph, the Levi sisters are poised for this cross-code transition. However, it's important to note that their participation in the NRLW would be limited to just one season before returning to rugby, following a two-year contract extension with Rugby Australia that lasts until the end of 2028.

Maddison Levi has built a remarkable sporting career that includes her time with the Gold Coast Suns in the AFLW and participation in Miami State High School's Rugby Sevens Excellence Program. She holds the title of the fastest Australian woman to achieve 100 tries in the World Sevens Series and has clinched Gold medals at both the 2022 Rugby Sevens World Cup and the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Teagan, the younger sister, mirrors her sibling's achievements impressively. She was part of the squad that secured Gold at the same major tournaments-the 2022 Rugby Sevens World Cup and the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Additionally, she was also drafted by the Gold Coast Suns in the AFLW, and her career is yet to hit its peak.

Reflecting on the potential future of the NRLW, one source stated, "I think the more that we can build the brand around NRLW and increase the salaries as well, they're all going to be draw cards."
