Spencer Leniu's anticipated move to the Parramatta Eels has stirred excitement, especially as reports confirm the transition will happen after the current season concludes.
According to The Daily Telegraph, the former Roosters player is expected to depart from the Bondi-based club, where he has one year remaining on his contract, which the Roosters are willing to honor until their finals campaign is concluded.
In a strategic response, the Roosters plan to sign Braden Uele, a forward from the Cronulla Sharks, on a one-year agreement to fill Leniu's position.
This season, the Roosters' only major signing from another team was Reuben Garrick, who joined on a two-year deal from the Manly Sea Eagles.
As part of the roster shake-up, the Roosters will also say goodbye to Angus Crichton and Mark Nawaqanitawase, both of whom are set to transition to rugby union.
Connor Watson, previously under contract for another year, has been released to join the Dragons and is scheduled to play for the inaugural PNG Chiefs roster in 2028.

Issues arose during a recent match between the Rabbitohs and Roosters, where Leniu faced criticism for his actions, including a penalty for throwing the ball and confronting Rabbitohs forward Keaon Koloamatangi.
