Holy Leka: Warriors Young Gun Rising with Each Opportunity
Warriors teen sensation Leka Halasima is making a name for himself on the field, inspired by his co-captain James Fisher-Harris.
Though he remains relatively reserved, his performances speak volumes.
According to nrl.com.au, Halasima made a memorable debut in Round 18 of last year but truly showcased his talent in Round 4 against Wests Tigers.
In that match, he executed a remarkable length-of-the-field try, following a Taine Tuaupiki out ball before dashing down the sideline and stepping through defenders, marking his first score and contributing to a vital win for the team.
Halasima is part of a promising group of young players who have propelled the Warriors to third place on the ladder this season.
His rapid progression has seen him rise to a starting position by Round 7, and he has successfully maintained that spot.
The 19-year-old credits coach Andrew Webster for instilling confidence not only in him but also in fellow rookies like Demitric Vaimauga, Ali Leiataua, and Jacob Laban, encouraging them to step into their roles with assurance.
