In a truly iconic moment at Leichhardt Oval, the Wests Tigers fans went wild during their clash with the Sharks on Saturday night, creating a scene rarely seen in rugby league.

For those who follow the NRL, the Tigers have had their fair share of struggles over the years.

Apart from their glorious 2005 premiership win, they have been a bit of a rollercoaster ride for their loyal supporters.

While they did reach the heights of third and fourth in 2010 and 2011, the Tigers have been in a finals drought for the past 12 years, much to the dismay of their long-suffering fans.

Their home ground advantage has also been lacking, with only 37 wins out of 91 games at Campbelltown Sports Stadium and 51 wins out of 93 games at Leichhardt Oval, which is often referred to as their "spiritual home".

However, in recent years, Leichhardt Oval has not been kind to the Tigers, with fans booing them off the field after a 28-6 halftime deficit against the winless Cowboys in 2021, a particularly tough moment as they were trying to pay tribute to the late great Tommy Raudonikis.
