Arthur Beetson's legacy honoured in Indigenous Round clash

The upcoming NRL Indigenous Round clash between the Dolphins and Roosters will pay tribute to the significant legacy of Arthur Beetson, a highly respected figure in Australian sports.

Beetson, known as the first Indigenous captain of an Australian team in any sport, will be commemorated with the presentation of the Artie Legacy Medal to the player of the match.

His influence will also be felt as his sons, Brad (Dolphins) and Mark (Roosters), will lead their respective teams onto the field at Suncorp Stadium before the game.

Prior to kickoff, the Beetson brothers will exchange Indigenous gifts representing both clubs.

Terry Reader, the Dolphins' chief executive, expressed that the match will serve as a heartfelt tribute to Beetson, who began his illustrious career by securing a Brisbane Rugby League Grand Final win with the Dolphins before achieving premiership success with the Roosters.
