Lawrie breathes fire with 2023 Dragons Medal win

Blake Lawrie, a player for the Dragons Rugby League team, was awarded the prestigious Dragons Medal for the year 2023.

The annual presentation night took place at the WIN Entertainment Centre in Wollongong on Tuesday evening.

The news was reported by the official website of the Dragons, dragons.com.au.

The event was attended by former Dragons Medal winners Ben Creagh, Jason Nightingale, and Shaun Timmins, who congratulated Lawrie on his achievement as the NRL Player of the Year.

In addition to the Dragons Medal, Lawrie also received the Red V Members Player of the Year award and the Community Involvement Award, highlighting his contributions both on and off the field as a community leader.

Lawrie had an outstanding season, playing in 22 games and averaging an impressive 135 run metres per game, while also making 680 tackles at an impressive 94 percent efficiency.

His performances and leadership qualities were recognized when he was given the captaincy role for the first time in Round 19 against the Raiders.

Although Lawrie was the standout recipient of multiple awards, other players were also acknowledged for their exceptional seasons.
