Long-term Canterbury Bulldogs sponsor Arthur Laundy has expressed interest in acquiring a stake in the Wests Tigers, while a director from Holman-Barnes has shed light on recent changes within the club's board.
After showing signs of improvement on the field under coach Benji Marshall, the Tigers are experiencing yet another tumultuous off-season.
In a significant shake-up, Barry O'Farrell and three other directors have been removed from their positions. Additionally, there are rumors that CEO Shane Richardson, who has played a pivotal role in recent player acquisitions, may also leave the organization.
In an interview with News Corp, Laundy voiced skepticism about the viability of the joint-venture between Balmain and Western Suburbs, indicating he would be willing to purchase the club. Currently, the Holman-Barnes group holds 90 percent of Wests Tigers.
"It would be the only way they are ever going to survive," Laundy remarked to The Daily Telegraph.
"I can't see how this (joint venture) can ever work, so I'd be happy to look at buying Wests' 90 percent."
"Yes, I'm certainly prepared to look at it."
